about Common ROot
Jenny Lee - founder of Common Root Botanicals- has been deeply engaged with the secret lives of plants since childhood. This fascination led her around the world and to advanced studies in botany and environmental conservation. Now living on Wampanoag land in Newport, RI, Common Root Botanicals is the next step on a lifelong journey to engage with the health, healing, and wisdom of plants and to help others connect to their environment, the natural world, and each other.
Specializing in small-batch skincare products for all seasons and environments, Jenny also crafts custom blended herbal teas and nutrient-rich herbal vinegars and syrups for immune, digestive, and nervous system support. She teaches plant-centered workshops, and is a student of the art of fermented foods. Jenny studies with Kay Parent in Newport, RI, Katja Swift and Ryn Midura of CommonWealth Center for Holistic Herbalism in Boston, MA and has taken courses with Mary Blue of Farmacy Herbs in Providence, RI, Asia Suler of One Willow Apothecaries, and Sajah Popham of the School of Evolutionary Herbalism.
